Meet Nea, a remarkable dog who has shown incredible progress since joining our shelter. Previously, she was in a public shelter due to a biting incident involving a human. Here at Hopeland, Nea has displayed a strong and confident character, especially when she recognizes and respects a clear leader. She thrives under the guidance of assertive individuals, both male and female, who can establish themselves as the pack leader. Nea is 55 cm tall and weighs around 30 kg.
From the beginning it was noticeable that something was wrong with Nea's right front leg. The fact that Nea couldn't use her leg properly was due to an old fracture. To help her, the leg was operated on, but right from the start the chances that Nea would be able to walk normally again after this operation were slim. To this day she cannot use her leg properly. Nevertheless, she loves going for walks more than anything.
Nea is highly obedient once she acknowledges your leadership and walks well on a leash. She interacts positively with most dogs but tends to have issues with unspayed females of reproductive age. Due to her history and potential for reactive behavior, we recommend that she be placed in a home without children, as their unpredictable actions might trigger a negative response from her.
Nea would flourish in a household with experienced dog owners who understand canine behavior and can provide firm, consistent leadership. She needs a structured environment where she can feel secure and understand her role within the family pack. With the right guidance, Nea is poised to be a loyal and loving companion.
If you believe you can offer Nea the leadership and environment she needs, she will undoubtedly become a devoted and affectionate member of your family.
