Our Cassy is a sweet girl who experienced bad things in her first few months of life. She spent the first five months in an animal shelter, where she lived under circumstances that no dog should have to experience. The dogs lived there in close quarters, which meant that it was not uncommon for puppies to simply be killed. There wasn't really any contact with people either. This time had a huge impact on Cassy.
However, Cassy was one of the lucky dogs who got a ticket to the Hopeland Animal Shelter. There the dogs are kept in a species-appropriate manner, have free range and are fully attuned to their needs. The many volunteers in Hopeland also ensure contact with people. However, Cassy is one of the few dogs who has difficulty putting her past behind her and is therefore still very afraid of people. But who can blame her after her terrible experiences?
Little Cassy lives in Hopeland with her equally frightened siblings. It takes Cassy a long time to build trust, which is why she needs a family who can have a lot of patience. We think a safe first dog that she can relate to would certainly help. Cassy shows no aggression towards people and other dogs, the only thing she needs is a lot of time and patience. In Hopeland she is also easy to bribe with treats. This way she begins to build trust and occasionally even allows herself to be petted. If she gets the time she needs, Cassy can show her amazing character. She doesn't know the leash yet; due to the uncertainty, this was simply unreasonable until now.
Cassy is 50cm tall and weighs 20kg.
Our dear Cassy is a sweet dog who needs a lot of time, patience and trust to feel safe. Are you ready to deal with her past with her?
