The beautiful Amber is a very strong girl because she survived the “Horror House”. She and around 30 dogs were rescued from this terrible place in 2020, where they had to live in catastrophic conditions for months if not years. An animal hoarder left the poor animals to rot in small, rusty kennels on concrete among mountains of feces, carcasses and rats. No clean water, no space, no life for an animal. Unfortunately, help came too late for some dogs, but Amber was lucky. She got a one-way ticket to the beautiful Hopeland animal shelter, where our Amber was able to rest. Now she gets food twice a day - definitely not enough for our chubby lady! She enjoys looking for shade in the garden under some of the almond trees for a little nap. But what she really loves and enjoys to the fullest is the affection of the volunteers. Especially, behind the ear, a little on the butt, and under the stomach. Although Amber is a peaceful lady, when scratched in the right way she becomes filled with so much excitement that she curls up and sprints in little circles in the large garden. We really hope that she will soon find a family who can give her the love and attention that our beautiful Amber longs for so much.
